Let’s #GetBuilding in
Port Hope
No matter where you go, you will always find someone who opposes development, and they’ll oppose it no matter how necessary it is.

Introduction

In Port Hope, there are now plans to build a new, state-of-the-art long-term care facility at 65 Ward Street.

Getting facilities like this built is becoming more important by the day. Canada’s population is aging rapidly and the Baby Boomers are about to become the largest generation of senior citizens in our country’s history.

Quite simply, facilities like this are necessary to provide these seniors with the care that they need.

The Problem

Getting facilities like this built is becoming more important by the day. Canada’s population is aging rapidly and the Baby Boomers are about to become the largest generation of senior citizens in our country’s history.

Quite simply, facilities like this are necessary to provide these seniors with the care that they need.

However, some people are against the project.

They have an unrealistic and idealized vision of Port Hope that can only be maintained by having ZERO growth.

If these people have their way then the restrictive, outdated structure will remain in place and Port Hope will face a chronic shortage of much needed care spaces in the community, a situation which will have dire results for seniors who need long-term care.

That’s why we need to get this development built, yet our town council is actually giving a hearing to the people selfishly opposing this development.

If you want Port Hope to be a place that is welcoming and accommodating for seniors, sign our petition and tell Port Hope’s town council that we want to ensure that our seniors have a place to retire in peace and comfort.

Show your support and let’s get building
